What: Rajesh Ramanujam, Product Marketing Manager, represented NetSpeed at the event, and gave a presentation on the subject

"A Smart Interconnect Fabric for Enabling Advanced Autonomous Vehicle Systems".

SoC solutions for autonomous vehicles must deal with the real world. These chips must combine real-time processing with machine learning accelerators running complex AI algorithms, which requires the implementation of high-performance heterogeneous architectures. This implies an architecture that must deal with real-time cache coherency between different processors running at different speeds and workloads. A smart interconnect fabric is a key enabling technology for next-generation autonomous vehicle systems. It reduces the complexity of integrating heterogeneous architectures and enables OEMs to meet stringent functional safety goals without compromising performance.

In his talk, Ramanujam tackled the following:

- An exploration of the system-level challenges facing autonomous vehicles
- Understanding the architecture and design challenges facing next generation of autonomous transportation SoCs
- Understanding the functional safety needs (ISO 26262) for these SoCs
